Choose Your Look

How we design the overlay that appears on every photo your guests take home.

Your overlay is the frame around every photo your guests take home — your names, your colours, your emblem. Here is how we design it together, entirely by email.

This all happens once your booking with us is confirmed. Not booked yet? Come and say hello — we will sort the date first, then we will have the fun part.

1 Your Brief

Telling us about your day, so we design something that actually feels like you

We start with a short form. It is not busywork — the questions are there so we understand the feel you are after, not just the file formats. The more you tell us, the more it will look like yours.

What we will ask:

  • Event details: Name, date, vibe, expected number of crowd
  • Your vision in 3–5 words: E.g., "warm, candid, a bit silly" or "soft, classic, understated"
  • Event specs: Your event logo, company logo or wedding emblem, your colours, your font type, any wording, and anything else you would like us to work in
  • Print format: Size, layout style, the must-haves

Our one-voice principle:

We work with one main person for all feedback — one of you, a parent, your planner, whoever makes most sense. Gather everyone's thoughts by all means, just send them to us together. It keeps things moving, saves you chasing people, and keeps the overlay design looking like one idea rather than five.

⏰ Timeline:

If your event is within the next 3 months, send your brief back within one week. We do not start the overlay design until it is in, and that is what keeps us comfortably ahead of your date.

Further out than that? No rush at all. We would suggest starting no more than 3 months before — any earlier and the details usually change before we are finished.

2 Overlay Design Mockup

We make it, you tell us what you think

From your brief we put together 1 digital mockup, showing the overlay exactly as it will sit around your guests' photos: layout, colours, emblem, wording — the lot.

What happens next:

  • You have a look (on your screen is absolutely fine)
  • You send us your thoughts within one week of receiving it
  • Be as specific as you can: "move the names a little left" beats "something feels off" — and do send us a screenshot with your notes marked on it if that is easier

One revision round included:

We take everything you have sent and come back with one revision within a week that reflects it. You have a final look, and give us the nod.

What "approval" means:

Once you are happy, the overlay design is locked and programmed into our photobooth software, ready for the day. It is worth a moment's thought before you sign off — here is why.

3 The Colour Reality Check

Because what you see on screen may differ slightly in print

Our booth prints are True to Life.

In photography, true to life means what comes out looks like what was actually there — natural skin tones across every complexion, whites that stay white, colours at the strength your eye saw them. Not pushed brighter or warmer to look impressive on a backlit screen.

It is also why there is sometimes a small shift between your screen and the photo in your hand. A screen makes colour out of light; a print makes it out of ink on paper. A deep teal on your phone might sit a touch softer on the strip. That is not a fault — it is two very different things doing their best to agree.

By the time you approve, every decision — layout, colours, emblem, wording, print size — has been through you already. That is why sign-off matters: whatever you approve is what the booth prints for every single guest, all night.

How we get this right together:

We would suggest a test print:

  1. Once you are happy with the revision, we run a test print on the same booth printer we will bring to your event
  2. We photograph it in normal daylight and email it to you — usually within 5 working days
  3. You compare it against the on-screen version, on your phone and your screen
  4. You approve the colours, or ask for one free adjustment
  5. Once you are happy, that is your look locked in for the day

Our commitment:

We will note your colours in the brief and hold to them as closely as the process allows. Our booth printing is calibrated to be True to Life, so what you approved is what your guests will be holding. The test print is simply our way of showing you how it looks coming out of the actual machine — all by email, nothing to wait in for.

4 From Preparation to Launch

Getting your look ready for the night itself

How it runs:

  • Your brief comes back — this kicks off the overlay design
  • Mockup lands in your inbox — have a look, send your thoughts
  • Your feedback window — gather it all, send it in one go
  • Revision delivered and approved — final nod, overlay design locked
  • Test print check (if you would like one) — we email you the photos to approve
  • Loaded into the booth — your overlay is programmed in and tested well before the day

On the day itself:

We arrive early, set up, and run a few test strips before anyone appears — so the first guest through gets the same quality as the last. Your guests pose, the print comes out within seconds with your overlay around it, and they take it home that night. That is the whole point of it: nothing to post, nothing to wait for.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I want more than 1 revision? +

Completely fine — it is an extra overlay design round at SGD $50, and takes about another week. We will always agree it with you first, so nothing lands on your invoice unannounced.

What if I miss the deadline for my brief? +

We will give you a friendly nudge. If we still do not hear back, the timeline gets tight and we will tell you straight away rather than let it creep up on you. No hard feelings — life happens, especially in the months before a wedding.

Do I have to do the test print? +

Not at all, it is entirely up to you. We would suggest it whenever the colours really matter — seeing a photo of the real thing off the real printer is the surest way to know it is right before the night. It is all done by email; there is nothing for you to collect or wait in for.

Can you match my exact colour? +

We will hold to it as closely as the process allows, and our booth printing is calibrated to be True to Life — so what you approved is what your guests get. An exact screen-to-print match is not something anyone can honestly promise, though: a screen makes colour from light, a print makes it from ink. The test print is the best way to see exactly where we land.

Can you do a rush job? +

Depends on the date. If you are 1–2 weeks out we can compress things — feedback within 3 days, revisions within 2. A rush order adds SGD $200. Tell us your date and we will be honest about what is possible.

What if I change my mind after approving? +

Then we would start a new design run, which is SGD $200. Worth knowing it costs more than getting there the first time — which is exactly what the revision round and the test print are there to help with.

Can more than one person give feedback? +

Of course — just have one person gather it all and send it across together. One of you, your planner, whoever is coordinating. It saves us going back and forth, and stops the two of you sending us opposite instructions on the same afternoon.
